Romans 8:28
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
From the beginning of time, the Lord has orchestrated every detail of creation. In His omnipotence, He sees the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end. Nothing escapes His sovereign gaze. Heaven and earth are governed by His will, and those who are His children—those called according to His purpose—can rest in the security of His divine plan.
Recently, I was deeply moved by one small but powerful word in Scripture: “must.”
John 4:4 tells us, “But He must needs go through Samaria.”
This wasn’t a detour for Jesus. It was a divine appointment.
As I meditated on this passage, I prayed, “Lord, help me walk out of my own Samaria and move forward toward my Galilee—my next season, my purpose.”
But then the Spirit of the Lord whispered something profound:
“No, don’t be in a rush. I have only given you part of the message. Now I want to give you the second part.”
So I waited and listened.
Then came the revelation that changed everything for me:
“From the moment you placed your hand into Mine and became My child, from the moment My Spirit descended and sealed MY WORD into your life, from the moment you were washed by the Blood of the Lamb—you have also been in the palm of the Father's hand. Whatever happens to you is not by chance, but under MY control and in MY care.
It must be so.”
Tears filled my eyes as I absorbed this truth. I asked,
“Lord, are You saying that everything in my life—every joy, every trial, every delay, every blessing—must happen because it’s part of Your plan?”
He answered simply, “Yes, My child.”
In that moment, a flood of peace washed over me. I saw that even the hard places, even the times of waiting or confusion, were not wasted. They were divinely appointed. God has been working through it all for my good and for His glory.
You Are Chosen with Purpose
To those reading this today: you are not forgotten. You are not overlooked. You are chosen—handpicked by God to serve Him in a way that is uniquely crafted for your life. Your path, even with its detours and delays, is ordained by a God who wastes nothing.
If you’ve been wondering why things didn’t go as planned, or why the wait has been long, remember this: It must be so.
Not because it’s easy, but because it’s necessary for your calling.
You are chosen to serve—not just in comfort, but in trust.
Not just in clarity, but in faith.
And always, always in love.
Closing Prayer
Abba Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for choosing us and calling us according to Your purpose. Teach us to trust Your timing and to rest in the truth that nothing in our lives is random. Help us to walk with assurance, knowing we are held in Your hand.
Your Word says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way” (Psalm 37:23).
May we delight in Your way and find peace in Your plan.
In the almighty name of Jesus, Amen.
