“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter…”
— Hebrews 11:24 (KJV)
🔥 Faith Doesn't Just Say Yes — It Also Says No
When we talk about faith, we often speak about what it receives: blessings, promises, miracles. But there’s another side to real faith—one we rarely preach about. The refusing side.
Faith says YES to God.
But equally, faith says NO to the world.
True faith will refuse to bow, blend, or sell out. It will walk away from glory if that glory doesn't come from God.
🏛️ Moses: A Man Who Refused
Moses was raised in Pharaoh’s palace—surrounded by power, wealth, and every worldly comfort. He had it all. Yet when he “came of age,” he made a defining decision.
He REFUSED to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.
That single act of refusal was radical faith. He walked away from:
-
Position – the title of a prince
-
Pleasure – the luxuries of Egypt
-
Possessions – the treasures of a kingdom
Why? Because he saw something better—eternal purpose over temporary gain.
🛑 What Are You Willing to Refuse?
In this world of compromise and comfort, God is raising a generation that will live by “faith that refuses.”
-
Refuse to compromise your purity for acceptance.
-
Refuse to chase money at the expense of your soul.
-
Refuse to be lukewarm in a culture that celebrates passivity.
-
Refuse to take shortcuts when God is calling you to grow.
Faith that refuses is a faith that sees beyond the moment.
⚔️ Faith That Refuses Will Cost You Something
Don’t be fooled—faith that refuses is not cheap. It might cost you:
-
Friends
-
Opportunities
-
Status
-
Comfort
-
Applause
But Hebrews 11:26 says Moses “had respect unto the recompence of the reward.”
He knew that what he refused on earth could not compare to what God would reward in eternity.
🔥 We Need This Kind of Faith Today
The Church needs more than feel-good faith.
We need fire-tested, decision-making, no-turning-back faith.
We need believers who refuse to:
-
Water down the Gospel
-
Enter partnerships that dishonor God
-
Trade spiritual depth for surface-level performance
-
Fit into culture when called to stand out
Because the Kingdom of God advances through the courageous, not the compromised.
🙌 Prayer: Faith That Refuses
Abba Father, in the name of Jesus,
I thank You for the gift of faith—but not just faith to receive blessings, faith to stand firm, faith to refuse what offends You.
Give me the heart of Moses, who walked away from palaces for the sake of purpose.
Let me see through temporary pleasures and fix my eyes on eternal reward.
I choose to say NO to sin, to compromise, to confusion, to worldly influence.
I say YES to purity, holiness, boldness, and Spirit-filled living.
When the world offers me fame without fire, I refuse.
When the enemy whispers comfort without calling, I refuse.
Let my life glorify You, even when it costs me everything.
In Jesus Almighty name, Amen.
🧭 Final Word: Refuse to Blend In
You were not called to fit in—you were called to stand out.
You were not saved to be silent—you were redeemed to roar.
Let your faith speak loudly—both in what it accepts, and in what it refuses.
🛐 Prayer: Faith That Refuses
Abba Father, in the name of Jesus,
Thank You for calling me into a life of bold faith—a faith that not only believes but also refuses.
Today I declare:
I refuse to bow to the systems of this world.
I refuse to be identified by anything other than who I am in Christ.
I refuse to be called by the names the enemy or the culture tries to place on me.
Like Moses, I refuse the temporary pleasures of Egypt for the eternal reward of walking with You.
Give me the courage to say NO when it counts.
No to sin.
No to compromise.
No to convenience over calling.
No to the treasures of Egypt when You are leading me to the Promised Land.
Help me to see beyond the now—to value reproach with Christ more than comfort with the world.
Let my heart burn for Your presence more than the applause of men.
Train me, Lord, to walk in wisdom and fire.
To fight the battles You have called me to, and to refuse the distractions that would pull me away from my purpose.
Make me one who stands when others bow.
Make me one who speaks when silence is easier.
Make me one who refuses anything that does not carry Your fingerprint.
Let my life be a banner of holy defiance—set apart, sealed with the Holy Ghost, and marching to the rhythm of Heaven.
I desire the greater reward, the eternal crown, and the joy of hearing,
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
I will walk by faith that refuses—because I belong to a Kingdom that cannot be shaken.
In Jesus Almighty name, Amen.
